I have another idea for the wiki - a new infobox system (Like this: http://cedarpointamusementpark.wikia.com/wiki/Template%3AInfobox_roller_coaster). It's easier to use, takes up less space and its much easier to add in rows. We could customise it with our colours as well. What do you guys think?
Picked letters will be bolded and listed next to participating users' names. Completed letters will be struckout.

I just made a forum for you guys:
I am Alex-Sixand on it of course. It requires Admin Validation so I'll have to validate you before you can post.
Enjoy it!Read more >
Instead of just bothering the admins with a talk message, I will make a blog of it instead. I've noticed many fictional pages being made. Although I know a lot of these are just spam, we should put a message on the home page so everyone knows its about real coasters, to avoid confusion.
Also, we need a new featured article soon, so I suggest ShockWave.
Another thing, are we ready to restart the ratings system? I just don't want to start it until everyone agrees.
Last of all, I am going to Lightwater Valley in the summer! Not quite Cedar Point I know, but I'm still looking forward to it! Can't wait to ride the second longest roller coaster in the world.Read more >

I would like to bring back the idea of the talk page polls and reviews. We are getting more users now and I would assume that more are likely going to come.
In case you don't know, the page polls and reviews is basically this:
Write a review of this roller coaster here!
Using this type of talk page, there is a poll you can use, you can write a review, and still be able to discuss the article. I'm not actually sure why we got rid of it, but we did. I thought it was fun thing. So, I would like to discuss whether or not we should bring this type of talk page back. Please comment.Read more >

Its a B&M, (Why would I use anyone else?) 177 foot monster.
Excitement: 7.37 Intensity: 4.58 Nausea: 2.15
I would put some pictures of the ride, but for some crazy reason, my computer won't let me. But, I have a lovely POV that, for some reason...has no sound... Here is the link to the video. It will play automatically. http://s1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg627/kata891/?action=view¤t=Movie0000.mp4

In RCT3, I was making a roller coaster (with 13 inversions!) and came up with this weird element. Its a Batwing, but instead of going straight down then back up, the track curves back towards the entrance, then turns and repeats. I thought this would work on a real coaster, what do you guys think?
(PS: I hope you dont mind me uploading screenhots like that to the wiki, if you do then delete it :P)
Also, the year category's don't work too well, as they show the original opening, not the opening if that ride was relocated. That's why I think we should add the opening category to the article as the opening at it's current location, (eg: 2012) then add the other date to the redirect, (eg: 1985). Wikipedia does this - i think it's a good idea. Co…Read more >

Congratulations everyone! Wikia has approved our wiki for yet another spotlight! This means that our wiki will be cross-advertised across thousands of other wikis around the Wikia network.
Be prepared for a significant boost in visitors within a few weeks. Let's all be as friendly and helpful as we can; this is a big opportunity to gain some more enthusiasts in our community to help us reach our goals!
In the meantime, let's keep the wiki looking good, and continue to add content (I promise to start helping out again this week).Read more >
I was thinking to myself while on CoasterForce, 'Why not show our RCT3 creations and stuff, in Coasterpedia, in our blogs?'
So, I will now like to present that idea. Why not give users the ability to show-off their RCT3 creations? We could have contests, on how realistic is it and stuff like that. I think, especially now we are going to be on spotlight, it will attract users. They can actually post their RTC projects here on coasterpedia. And, I think if we wanted to be really crazy, and if we did do the contests, we could have a section in our home page on the featured coaster the previous month. We would do this all in our blogs. I really do think this would be a fun thing to do. Tell me what you think in comments!Read more >
Coaster Q&A is a blog series in which interviews are conducted with our very own community of passionate roller coaster enthusiasts.
Today, our interviewee is Lachlan5963, an enthusiastic editor who has already racked up almost 2,000 edits in just 2 months!

- Lachlan5963: Well... I live in Scotland, UK, where we have rubbish coasters! When I'm not on the wiki, I am outside, with freinds or playing video games (RCT of course!). My hobbies would be: Listening to music, riding roller coasters, ( :P ) and going out with freinds. I also like to run sometimes as well.

Here are a few things to bring up for the month. If anyone can work on these, that would be great!
- POV's. The major thing that we offer is POV's. We all know we lack information compared to Wikipedia. And we don't have NEARLY all the coasters. If anyone can start adding more POV's, that would be amazing.
- We need to clean up our articles and expand them. We have lots of great articles, but we need to clean the very poor articles up, too. We need articles like, Shivering Timbers, or Kingda Ka.
These are the TOP things to do around here. So if you could perticipate and help with these, that would be awesome!Read more >

The train arrives at the station after its mile-long journey, and the passengers unload. As everyone files off the train, they chat excitedly about their wild experience. The train had just sped over 5,312 feet ( meters) of twisted track at over 80 miles per hour ( km/h), and reached a height of 245 feet ( meters). This is a roller coaster, specifically, Titan at Six Flags Over Texas. Titan, like hundreds of others, is a thrilling roller coaster ride. I am bringing back the blog post series that we did months ago! This current battle is between the Dragster and the King of coasters. Minimal to no bias will be used in this battle. It is completely based on what I collect over the internet.
Okay, down to the arena!
1 point The the first ever Strata Coaster, Dragster reaches 420 feet! Launching riders at 120 MPH just to barely reach the crest of the hill. However, two years later, the second and last strata coaster was built. The Kingda Ka. Reaching 456 feet, with a speed of eight miles an hour faster (128 MPH), and a "bunny Hill", the King takes this battle.
1 point The King has the classic, over shoulder restraints. Locking you in the car, making you feel safe and secure. Now…

I want to start off by saying that this isn't the worst problem our wiki has faced, so don't take it out of context.
I've noticed a growing number of infoboxes that use "extra" information, rearrange the usual order and layout of things, or even renaming the titles of the rows. The extra information is nice, but should not be put in the infobox. The current design should have rows for all the basic information on a roller coaster. Beyond that, it's up to the articles to give more in-depth information.
Now, before you all start calling me a control freak, hear me out on this... I'm totally open to adding more rows to the infoboxes (I actually think adding the cost and height restrictions are both great ideas). But we need to communicate with …Read more >
If it isn't obvious from the title, this blog is about the customization of the badges in our achievements feature.
We're currently "testing" the achievements feature here to see how well it works. There is no plan to replace our current awards system. Personally, I like having both. The awards are much more personal and satisfying to receive, and they are more customizable. However, we admins aren't always active enough to keep up with the awards, so the badges offer a temporary "thank you" to new editors.
Back to the main focus of the blog... We need to make our badges "Coasterfied!" (Yes, the word is stupid. You get the point!). Have a look at the current badges below, and try to come up with coasterfied (LOL!) names for them.
The names sh…

I am deciding to do a monthly update on idea's for CoasterPedia. And on somethings that we need to fix.
1. History of the roller coaster. Kinda like the one at Ultimate Roller Coaster.com. This will have to be done, eventually, so if anyone wants to do this, please do!
2. We need more amusement park articles. Most of our red links are because we don't make these type of articles.
3. Expand articles! I have been noticing, that 50% of our articles are stubs! Meaning, all it says is: Wild Mouse is a steel wild mouse roller coaster, located at Blank. We need to expand these.
If you have anything else that I missed, please comment! But these are the top three things that we need right now that I can find.

Since they are reopening Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom as Bluegrass Boardwalk, I have an idea for good ol' Six Flags New Orleans.
We can have Cedar Fair reopen the park by getting replacement parts from the ride manufacturers that still exist (Zamperla for Lex Luthor's Invertatron, Vekoma for Zydeco Scream and Jester), so they can re-open the park.
For the Mega Zeph, since the designers of Custom Coasters International, Inc. (the manufacturers of the coaster) formed The Gravity Group, why not have them give spare parts?
They can totally revamp Looney Tunes Adventures to Planet Snoopy, and replace Road Runner Express, which was moved to Six Flags Magic Mountain in 2009.
They can add a new screen for the badly shredded screen of SpongeBob SquarePants: T…Read more >

Hi guys, I have been trying to find websites willing to lend us photos and have received an email from "CoasterIMAGE" saying we can use theirs. First of all, I want to thank you all for removing hundreds of photos so very quickly. Of course, none of us want to do that again. To prevent this from reoccurring, we need to create an image policy. One that all pictures will need to be checked with.
NamekianFusion has created a forum page for the discussion of this. We can create our first draft there: Forum:Image Policy.
In the future, I'd like to create templates for the image uploader so that new users will know what they need to do.Read more >

Hi all! I've recently been considering the activation of Wikia's Achievements feature. As you know, we already have an Awards system in place.
I just believe that, as nice as our awards are, they aren't much of an encouragement to new users.
If Achievements are activated, I plan to continue using our awards system. However, a few awards will probably be removed in favor of the badges version.

I have a new proposition to make to this wiki.
Instead of adding and creating new articles, we need to fix up our hundreds of stubs. This is what I like to call The Stub Movement. Here is what I think we should do:
No one is allowed to create articles UNLESS they ask an admin, and the admin gives it a go. So, we need to start expanding our articles because most likely the admin will say no. By a stub, I mean the articles where it says: WildMouse is a roller coaster located at Magic Mountain.
We need to expand these articles. We have many pages, and we have every major roller coaster. This is just an idea, because we can't let these articles to keep being created. Please comment. All users welcome to give your opinion. I'll set up a poll later …Read more >
I found out today, that we have about 77 people visit coasterpedia daily. 2000 people monthly! Also, I found out from that last time MontagnaMagica checked, 52% of visitors are male, and 48% are female. 41% has NO kids, 59% has kids. (I contribute to the 41%)
I also found out that roughly 20% of coaster pedia's visitors come here often. But only 1% are addicts. (Which would be me and MontagnaMagica and some other people who do not edit)
In the US, 75% of people who visit are visiting from their home, and 23 from work. But globally, its 87% at home, and 13% at work. Just thought this was intresting. Comment if you have anything to contribute. Or just comment in general.Read more >
