Diamondback is an out and back Bolliger & Mabillard hyper roller coaster located at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio.[1] Diamondback is the biggest investment in Kings Island’s thirty-six year history at $22 million (€16 million). Diamondback was the second coaster in the world to use staggered seating. The other coaster is Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland.
Name[]
Diamondback was given its name from the venomous snake, the Diamondback. The ride is also themed around the snake. Interestingly, the paint colors are not similar to the Crtalus Atrox. For further reading on the snake, see here

A countdown was displayed on the park's official site with an eye of a creature and a message that said, "OUR MEANEST RIDE HITS THE PARK IN: XX:XX". Also, teaser signs had been posted around the construction site with phrases saying: "Warning"
Steep Incline Ahead.
Slippery when wet...
Move slowly, Do not disturb!!
Run for the hills!!!
Easily angered, Do not disturb!!
The park strikes back in 2009
The park also had advertisements on T-Shirts. One Diamondback shirt said:
Once bitten, its only a matter of time...
Design[]
The ride is an out and back featuring ten hills. Diamondback has a 74 degree drop from 230 feet (70.1 meters), and a splashdown at the end of its course, before the final brake run.
