Big Apple Coaster, formerly known as The Roller Coaster and Manhattan Express, is a TOGO roller coaster located at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It originally opened in 1997 as "Manhattan Express". Its trains are themed to New York taxicabs. In 2006, they were replaced with a newer one made by Premier Rides. Although its overall height is 203 ft, its main drop is 143 ft, and its lift hill is 180 ft. It is also the only operating TOGO coaster left in the United States.
It is infamous for giving a rough ride and, therefore, is unpopular among coaster enthusiasts. Part of this hatred is due to the trains having a lap bar and over the shoulder restraints, causing obvious discomfort among riders. The ride costs $15 for a ride with a reride costing $8. There is even a virtual reality option as of 2018.
The trains were replaced yet again in 2021 by the Sky Rocket II-style train, also from Premier Rides.
