Great American Scream Machine is a Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters out and back wooden roller coaster located at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia.[1] When the ride opened in 1973, it was the tallest and fastest wooden coaster in the world.[citation needed]

History[]

The coaster opened with the 1973 season in April, it was one of the last coasters designed by the late John Allen, and was one of the first to reach the 100 foot mark.

The coaster's trains were replaced in 2018 with the old Georgia Cyclone trains.

Theme[]

The color scheme of the ride is a combination of the colors, red, white, and blue; the colors found on the flag of the United States of America.

Design[]

Great American Scream Machine features an out-and-back layout that travels over the water. There is a total of eleven drops on the ride.
