Montezooma's Revenge is a Schwarzkopf launched sit-down shuttle roller coaster located at Knott's Berry Farm, in Buena Park, California.

History[]

The coaster was designed by Anton Schwarzkopf and is the last operating Schwarzkopf shuttle looper in the United States. It is the oldest operating roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm.

The coaster has been closed for major refurbishment since the 2022 season and will reopen on an undetermined date under the name MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress. The 7.6-ton flywheel launch mechanism was removed in July 2022 and is expected to be replaced with a more reliable magnetic mechanism.[1] It is one of two Schwarzkof Shuttle Loops still remaining in the United States, with the other being the former Cascabel coaster from La Feria Chapultepec Magico, which is set to open at Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World in 2022-2023.
