Mystic Timbers is an upcoming wooden roller coaster scheduled to open in April 2017 at Kings Island. It will be the park's fifth wooden coaster, claiming the record title for a park with the most wooden coasters.
Mystic Timbers is themed to the Miami Valley Logging Co., a fictional logging company that purchased the land for timber and used the park's Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad to ship the timber. The company, however, shut down after an unexplained series of events occurred when the land was overrun by a medusa-like growth of vines as nature reclaimed its land.
The course of the coaster runs through the wooded area of Rivertown, some elements include a mid-course tunnel run, an extreme S-turn, and 16 airtime moments. But perhaps the most talked about moment of the ride, and definitely the most mysterious, is at the end when the train enters a large, enclosed wooden shed. Park officials have confirmed to media and park enthusiasts that they will not reveal any details about the shed until the ride's official opening in 2017.
