Runaway Mine Train is a steel sit-down roller coaster currently located at Flamingo Land. It opened at Flamingo Land in 2007, after operating at two other parks.

HistoryEdit

Gulliver's WarringtonEdit

  • The ride first opened at Gulliver's Warrington as Runaway Train in 2004. It left the park in 2005. The ride contained some theming wich was obviously not sold with the coaster when it left the park.

American Adventure Theme ParkEdit

  • The ride was relocated to American Adventure Theme Park where it opened on 4/8/2006 as Mini Mine Rush. Due to the closure of the park, it closed later that year.

Flamingo Land Theme Park & ZooEdit

  • The ride was sold to Flamingo Land. It opened in 2007 as Runaway Mine Train and has been operating ever since.

DesignEdit

The ride features a simple, compact layout. After the lift hill, the ride drops to the right, making a 180 deg turn, then rising before a 360 deg helix. A bunny hop follows then a 180 deg right turn back to the station. The train completes 3 laps of the track.

  • The ride is painted orange with silver supports.

TrainEdit

Single train with 6 cars. Riders are arranged 2 across in a single row for a total of 12 riders. The train is modelled to look like several mine-carts coupled together into a train.
