Super Manège (Super Ride in English) is a Vekoma sit-down roller coaster located at La Ronde in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Opened in 1981, it was the first inverting roller coaster at the park.

LocationEdit

The ride is located between Manitou and the Monstre wooden roller coaster, and is close to Le Boomerang. The popular Splash ride's entrance is across the pathway from the entrance of Super Manege.

DesignEdit

Elements

Double Corkscrew

TrainsEdit

Error: Missing train type

The trains are built by Arrow Dynamics. Many riders experience pain on the ride due to the restraints. A transfer track also exists to hold a train when it is not needed.

Ride experienceEdit

The ride starts by climbing to a height of 75 feet. After a small curved drop, riders are taken down a steep 68 foot drop and over a smaller hill. Riders are then sent through the  double corkscrew element, the highlight of the ride. Then, the ride climbs again, and turns to the right. After the drop, the 'Bayerncurve' element follows, which is essentially a helix that travels up and down. The ride then follows it's perimeter round and back to the station.

Name EtymologyEdit

Translated literally, "Super Manège" means "Super Ride". This shows significance in introducing inverting rides to the park. The ride was originally called "Corkscrew".
